VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
I use Procreate and Adobe Photoshop to create illustrated pieces that have served as backgrounds for animated films or concept art for various projects!
Backgrounds from "Tobeus and Toby" (2019)
In the fall of my junior year at college, I worked on an animated short film with several other students. Once production of "Tobeus and Toby" began in the fall of 2019, I began working on my primary job for the film: drawing all the backgrounds. Below is a selection of some of my favorite backgrounds from the film.

Design Process of "The Cactus Cat" graphic novel (2020)
In January of 2020, I took a graphic novel illustration class, and the final project for that class was to create a graphic novel short story. My 24-page story later became the basis for the animated short film I directed by the same name.
Below is an example of the process I used to create each page, from the thumbnail to the finished product. Click on each image to read a description of every stage of the process! Every page was drawn in Adobe Photoshop.
Concept Art for Graphic Novel Project
These illustrations were created as concept art for a graphic novel I want to write one day called "Around A Kindred Star." This will be a science fiction story set in a faraway galaxy in the distant future.
Projects from "Inspirational Design" Class
During my junior year of college, I took a class called "Inspirational Design" which encompassed a variety of projects from character design to environment design to texture studies. These following pieces are projects I created for that class. Click on each preview to view the full image and the prompt for the project!
STORYBOARDING
"The Escape" Storyboarding Project
This project was the final for my Advanced Concept Development class in the spring of my junior year. For this storyboarding project, each student was assigned a random genre to design their story around, and mine was Action. I chose to go with an action-adventure pirate theme and tell a story about a crew of heroic pirates who pull off a daring mission to rescue their youngest crew member from a prison island.
"Dream Home" Storyboarding Project
This project was the midterm for my Advanced Concept Development class. The inspiration for this storyboarding assignment came from my own experience of moving from the mountains to the city.
